This notice explains what personal information Damian Philpott uses, why it is used, how it is protected and the choices available to you.
Who is responsible
Damian Philpott +
Damian Philpott, trading as Damian Philpott, is responsible for the personal information used to provide the salon, booking, client-account, payment-record, loyalty, referral and retail services described on this website.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent using the details on the Contact page.
Information collected
Identity & contact information +
This may include your name, email address, telephone number, postal address where supplied, date of birth where supplied, client-account details and communication preferences.
Appointments & hair records +
This may include appointment history, booked services, stylist notes, consultation information, hair goals, maintenance plans, care advice, before/after records or images, favourite results and other information you choose to provide for ongoing client care.
Patch tests & relevant health information +
Patch-test records may include the date, result and information needed to determine whether a colour service can safely proceed. Where information reveals allergies, reactions or health information, it may require additional protection as special-category personal data.
Only information reasonably needed for safe service delivery should be recorded.
Payments, packages, rewards & referrals +
This may include transaction references, amounts, payment status, package usage, Gift Card information, loyalty points and referral activity.
Full payment-card details used for online transactions are handled by the relevant payment provider rather than being stored as full card details in Damian Platform.
Website & security information +
Technical information may be processed where necessary to provide secure sessions, protect forms, maintain account access, prevent misuse and operate the website. Optional analytics or marketing technologies are controlled through your cookie choices.
Mobile app & communications +
When you use the Damian Philpott mobile app, technical identifiers such as your account ID and push-notification device token may be stored so the app can maintain your account, deliver notifications and provide app functionality.
Messages and other content you send through the app may be stored as part of your client account and used to respond to you and provide salon services.
Contact enquiries +
When you use the Contact form, the name, email address, optional telephone number and message you provide are used to respond to your enquiry and keep an appropriate business record of the conversation.
Enquiries are stored within Damian Platform and may also be delivered to the salon email address. They are not added to marketing lists simply because you contacted the business.
Why it is used
Bookings, services & purchases +
Information is used to take and manage bookings, provide the services you request, maintain your client account, process purchases and payments, manage packages, issue confirmations and deal with changes or cancellations.
Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an arrangement, to perform the service or transaction agreed with you, or to meet a legal obligation.
Client care & business administration +
Records may be used to provide continuity of service, remember agreed preferences, maintain accurate business records, resolve queries, protect the security of the service and manage legitimate business interests where those interests do not override your rights.
Patch-test and safety information +
Patch-test information is used to support safe service delivery and determine whether a relevant colour service can proceed. Where special-category information is processed, an additional lawful condition will be required alongside the ordinary lawful basis.
Marketing +
Optional marketing messages, news, hair advice or offers are kept separate from essential booking communications. Where consent is relied upon, marketing is only sent after you have opted in and you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Sharing & transfers
Service providers +
Personal information may be shared with service providers where necessary to operate the business — for example payment processing, email or SMS delivery, website hosting, security, accounting or other systems used to provide the service.
Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose should be shared.
Maps & directions +
The Contact page can load a third-party interactive map when you choose to do so, and directions links can open an external mapping service. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when their service is loaded. The interactive map is not loaded automatically.
Legal or regulatory disclosure +
Information may be disclosed where required by law, court order, regulatory requirement, tax obligation or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
International transfers +
Some technology providers may process information outside Jersey. Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate protections should be used where required by Jersey data-protection law.
Retention
How long information is kept +
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Retention may also be affected by ongoing client care, accounting and tax requirements, payment records, complaint handling, security requirements and the need to establish or defend legal claims.
Different categories of information may therefore be kept for different periods.
Your rights
Your data-protection rights +
Depending on the circumstances, Jersey data-protection law may give you rights to be informed, request access to your information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request erasure where applicable, restrict or object to certain processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Some rights are subject to legal conditions or exemptions and may not apply in every circumstance.
Marketing choices +
You can change marketing preferences through your client account where available, use an unsubscribe option provided in a marketing message, or contact Damian Philpott directly.
